Questions

300 general questions (1–300) + 160 state questions: 10 for each of the 16 Bundesländer (301–310). You study the 300 general questions plus the 10 for the state you pick on the home screen.

Correct answers

Official BAMF online catalogue (oet.bamf.de, app 514, Bundesland Bayern selected). Each of the 310 tasks marks exactly one option as the correct answer in its feedback; that marker was read for every question.

Pictures

Picture questions use the task image served by the official BAMF online catalogue (Bayern), unchanged. Picture questions: 21, 55, 70, 130, 176, 181, 187, 209, 216, 226, 235, 301, 308. Five of these are press photographs with a photographer's copyright, so this app shows its own illustration for them and names the original photographer under the picture.

Validation

310/310 questions retrieved (1–300 general, 301–310 Bayern). Every question has 4 options and exactly 1 correct answer from the official feedback. Option order of the online catalogue was matched against the PDF for all 310 questions; differences are only in gender-form wording (e.g. 'Bürger und Bürgerinnen' vs 'Bürgerinnen und Bürger'). The PDF (newer wording) is used for display.

All 16 states

All 16 state sections (16 × 10 = 160 questions, PDF pages 112–191) were retrieved on 2026-10-05. Question text and options come from the PDF; the correct answer for each was read from the official online catalogue with that Bundesland selected. Option order matches the online catalogue for all 160; the only wording differences are gender forms (e.g. 'Senator / Senatorin' vs 'Senatorin/Senator'). The coat-of-arms (301) and map (308) pictures are the online catalogue's own task images, unchanged; Bayern's re-downloaded pictures were byte-identical to the ones already in the app.

Other languages

Help is also available in Arabic and Ukrainian for all 460 questions. Both were drafted with AI and checked by two independent AI reviewers, one for accuracy against the official German and one for language. The project owner released Arabic; Ukrainian was released before a native-speaker review and is marked as AI-translated in the app. The interface is available in English, German, Arabic and Ukrainian.

English

English translations, explanations and vocabulary were written for this app as study help. They are not official and are not checked by BAMF. The German text is what appears in the test. English help is written for all 460 questions and is part of paid access (see prices).
